Andreas Kellerhals, director of the Swiss Federal Archives and host of the conference was kind enough to give the FR a short interview.
Richard Blake from the National Archives of the UK kindly accepted the invitation to talk about collaboration between the DLM Forum and the ICA, and summarized ICA-Req.
Wednesday evening, the beautiful rooms of the Société de Lecture in the old town of Geneva were transformed into a meeting place for all Young Professional participating on the ECA2010.
Fully sponsored by the Swiss National Archives, the event was organized by three local students of the Information& Documentation Sciences, Geneva.
An enrichment for the event was not only the generous buffet, but also a groovy background music and an exhibition of photos from local photographers. Another highlight was Mr. Andreas Kellerhals’ motivating speech where he mentioned once more the importance of the younger generation for the surviving of the international archives.
Although, there were expected more participants, it was exactly this familiar atmosphere that permitted everyone to know and talk to his colleagues from all around the world.
Appetizers were tasted, experiences were exchanged… the network of Young Professionals grew step by step.
Thanks to a group of active students, an international mentoring programme is being developed in the framework of the ECA. After a difficult start, the programme is becoming popular among the participants of the conference.
